BIG GROCERY PLANNED FOR BROOKDALE Couch To Construct Store At Triangle Arthur W, Couch, proprietor of Couch's Grocery now located at 980 Davie Ave., announced today that work is about to start on construction of a completely modern modern grocery and market building that will be equipped to serve the needs of the residents xf Brookdale and vicinity. The new building will be located located in the triangle at the end Davie Avenue between the Mocksville Mocksville and TurnersbuiM highways. GordoiTL. Wilson of the G. L. Wilson Building Company which has the general contract for the construction work involved, said that the building will be of two stories with the first floor devot- ed to the modern market while the grocery and second floor will be an apartment which will house the proprietor and his family. The exterior walls will be of brick in order to present an appearance appearance that will be an asset the location. The interior walls of the store will be concrete blocks, painted. All of the fixtures will be new. A large driveway at the front of the building will provide adequate adequate space for parking cars while their occupants shop. Recognizing the necessity for a building of this type, the of the WPB has granted an priority on this job. Mr. Couch anticipates that the new store will be open for business about July 5.
