PARDONS REFUSED. Folk Denies Applications of . Forty-Two Prisoners. Special to th tv;-n!stintc" JKFFKRSON CITY, Mo.. Aug. 25. Gov. Folk yesterday denied forty-two applications for pardons and one for the restoration of citizenship. Six of the applicants were from St. Louis. Clemency of any character was refused. The St. Ixitiis convicts to whom pardons were denied are as follows: Edward John, convicted of murder in the second degree. December 27. 1901, and sentenced for 15 years. Ralph Herndon, a negro, convicted of burelarv in the second degree. May 1905. and sentenced for 5 years. I Lee Shelton. alliis Stack Lee. a negro, I convicted of murder in the second degree. July 3, 1S97, and sentenced for 25 vears. August Tautman. convicted of embezzlement. June 8. 1904. and sentenced for 3 vears.
