20 PAGES MRS. DESIREE PENS1S Had 99 Descendants Weirton's Oldest Resident, 101, Dies Weirton's Oldest known resident, resident, Mrs. Desiree Pensis, of 175 'S. llth St., died at home Thursday Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the age of 101. Mrs. Pensis, who resided with her daughter and son-in-law, Simone and Frank Hale, had been hospitalized two and one- half weeks recently and had been home from the hospital only six days when she died quietly. At her death, the Belgium-born matriarch headed six generations generations and had 99 descendants, including including five children, 17 grandchildren, grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, 32 great great grandchildren and one great great great grandchild. Mrs. Pensis, born April 10, 1871, came to the U. S. from Belgium Belgium in 1903. She had lived in McDonald, Pa., more than 60 years and only recently had resided resided with relalves in Weirton. Daughter of Auguste Regnier, who lived to be 105, and Virginia VerHayden Regnier, she was one of four children, all of whom preceded preceded her in death. Her children are Mrs. Hale, 73; Mrs. Adhcna Pinnello of McDon- aid, 83; Mrs^ Nellie Reiss of Baity, Va., 77; Jules Gosseaux of West Brownsville, Pa., 80, and Aime Pensis of McDonald, 55. Mrs. Pensis was pronounced dead at Weirton General Hospital. Hospital. Her body was removed to the Nation Funeral Home in McDonald, where friends may call this evening and Friday. Services will be held in the funeral funeral home Saturday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Pelton Vandercoy of Weirton Heights Memorial Baptist Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be made in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald.
