Justashehasreliedonhisfellow servicemenfor15years,hemustnow turntohisfellowOregonmusicians whohaveofferedtheirassistancein song. TheSundaysoireeatYourPlace Restaurant&Nightclubisawayforhis comradesinmusictoraisefunds meanttooffsetsomeout-of-pocket expensesthe53-year-oldbluesgreatis experiencingasheundergoeslong- termcareforphysicalailmentsand alcoholismataVeteran’sAdministra- tionHospitalinWhiteCity,justnorth ofMedford. Participatingmusiciansinclude thoseBurfordhasplayedwithand mentoredsincereturninghomefrom theArmyinthemid-90s,including JakeBlairBand,PhamousPhaces,Ty Curtis,CurtisSalgadoandTerryRobb.
