May 21 - Henry Perclfield. a well - known" farmer, accom panied by his wife, drove to town yester day afternoon, and about dusk they started on their return home. Near this city Is a high hill, and the pike recently constructed mna along its side, and Is a dangerous passageway after nightfall. . Midway up the ascent, their horse ahletl ana plunged over the embankment. Mrs. Ptrclfleld was thrown Into the air and down the embankment seventy - five feet, lodging in the top of a tree, where she hung until rescued by her husband. Both Mr. and Mrs. Perclfield escaped with their lives, but the norse waa ruined by the terrible fall. '
