Six Injured In Area Weekend Road Accidents Six area residents were injured, three of them seriously, and property damage totaled over §6,000 in six area accidents over the weekend. The most serious of the mishaps involved three members of a Philipsburg R. D. family who were seriously injured in a two-car collisijn at 1:40 p. m. Sunday near Gallitzin. Injured were Walter Laird, 46, his wife Faye, 45, and ,their daughter Linda, 13. State police reported the accident occurred when Mr. Laird was pulling out from a stop sign and was struck by an automobile operated by an unidentified 19-year-old driver who was rouuding a curve on the wet highway, lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the Laird car, which was hauling a show horse in a trailer. Both cars were demolished and all four persons were taken to Mercy Hospital at Altoona by ambulance. The youth was treated and released and all hree members of the Laird family were admitted. They were listed in poor condition last night and in satisfactory condition early today. Linda suffered head and leg injuries and fractures of the shoulder and wrist. Her mother suffered facial cuts and internal and leg injuries, while Mr. Laird suffered cuts and extensive internal injuries.
