Herd was born In Sneedville, Term., Aug. 15, 1864, and had lived in Texas 41 years and in Denton Comity 25 years. He was married May B, 1894, in Tennessee to Miss Rhoda Bray, who survives, with the following children: Bob, Bert, Andie Andie and Wayne Herd, Misses Lou and Mossey Herd and Mr.s. J. P. Hides of Lake Dnllits, Mr.s. E. R. McCreless of McAUen, Mrs. J. C. Vasaiiiffer of Boyce, Mr.s. L. H. Tny- lor of Dallas. Melvin Herd of For- sythc.
