Special to Tie Wnnhlngton Post Boston, Sept. 12.--With the rain falling teadlly, Boston random spent most of heir time to-day trying to figure out what struck the Boston champions In ecorad game Monday afternoon. Talk .bout surprises--the way the Nationals :ld thing's to Ed Hughes and Gibson lished the biggest baseball surprise of he season. Once upon a time, and. not long- ago rither, the Boston fans were sorry to h« Washingtons coma here. They sorry because Waehiragrton almost always got Tjeaten and was down at the tail he race. But this year the rooters glad to see Washington as any of earns, and no longer ia pity exry-egged 'or the Nationals. Pity is now showered upon the opposing- pitchers, for Anderson, Hictanan, and Stahl are a sweet quartet of hitters to face any ltcher, not to mention, Cassldy, who lit some; Nlll, who is too small to to, and Joe Stanley, who can draw as many free gifts to flrst as any n the league.
