Dancers Rehearse For 'Nutcracker 9 The 27-member Amarillo Ballet Theatre company is in final rehearsals for its debut slated Friday and Saturday in "The -Nutcracker." The Hoffman-Tchaikowsky Christmas fantasy will play at 8:13 p.m. at the Amarillo Little Little Theatre, with dancers from New York taking principal principal roles. · Bill Martin-Viscount, now- associate master of the Dallas Civic Ballet and a principal with the Jeffrey Company of New York, and Linda DiBon- na. associated with the New York City Ballet, will be featured p e r f o r m e r s -Martin-Vis -Martin-Vis count as the "Snow: King and -Prince Charming, and Miss DiBonna as- The Sugar Plum and the Show Queen. The performance is under auspices of the High. Plains Center for the Performing Arts, an Amarillobased group formed for furtherance of arts activities in.the Panhandle. · · · The Amarillo Ballet Theatre was formed a year ago under leadership of Peggy Norman, Elaine Fields and Phyllis Jackson, Amarillo dance teachers who also are directors directors of "The Nutcracker." Peter Fox, managing director director of the Amarillo Little Theatre, to be Drosselmeier in the play, also has directed the ballet's first scene. Music will be a Philadelphia Orchestra recording conducted conducted by Eugen* Ormandy, with choreography by Peggy Norman and sets by Diantha Cram. Other principals are Becky Cornelius, 10, as Clara; Mary Beth Kisner, 17, as the Dew Drop Fairy; David Jackson, 16, as The Nutcracker; Susan Fangio, 17, as Spanish Chocolate; Diana Foulk. 15, as the Mouse Queen, and Candy Candy Collier, 18, as Snow Princess. e e e Martin-Viscount, a native of Winnepeg, studied ballet with Arnold Spohr, artistic director of the Royal Winnepeg Ballet, and with Harold Turner and Errol Addison of the Royal Ballet School in London. He also was a student of Kirsten Ralov and Hans Brenaa of the Royal Danish Ballet in Copenhagen. He has performed with numerous ballet companies including including the Royal Winnepeg, in which he was principal dancer dancer for seven years. He also has appeared with London's Festival Ballet on tour through England and 13 European European countries and the Middle East.
