able the "Why, yes--the apples were there ail right, but they blew down three weeks ago. We've had two heavy blows--one lasted two days and nights. All night could hear apples droppin' as if someone was shakin' the trees purpose. It was the first big crop I've had, and I counted on it to lift the mortgage. Now I won't get 20 cents a bushel. during the storm, a wild cherry tree blew over down in the pasture, pasture, and when the leaves began to wilt my cows ate 'em and died. I never knew wilted wild cherry leaves was poison, until the veterinary told me. "It seems like the devil himself into everything this fall. Sometimes Sometimes I think a man'd better own anything.
