C. Avery Celebrate Their Golden Wedding Anniversary A family dinner Saturday and open house yesterday the golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. live- eight miles south of Higbee. Mr. and Mrs. Avery celebrated their anniversary in the in which they have lived all their wedded life. Some 200 visited during the day, many bringing gifts. All four of their children, granddaughters and a great- granddaughter were present. The children, accompanied by their wives or husbands and families, are Mrs. I. C. Sever, SI Monte, Calif.; Mrs. Price Thompson of Higbee; Earl of Pacoima, Calif.; and Mrs. Dolcy Hoist, Route 3, Moberly. Grandchildren present were Mrs. Paul Williamson, San Calif.; and Mrs. Eddie Black, Concordia, Mo. The. great- granddaughter is Teresa, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Black. A Navy grandson was unable to heavily damaged in a fire at 6:30 o'clock Saturday night. Sparks blown from a trash fire are believed to have started the blaze, which damaged a chicken house and feed house. The Moberly fire department, using its auxiliary pumper, corn- batted the flames for nearly two hours. Firemen were called at 12:0? o'clock this morning to extinguish flames on a power line be present. Mr, and Mrs. Avery presented each ' of their children and grandchildren with a print of their picture appearing in _today's Monitor-Index. Cousins" of the Averys baked cakes for'the celebration.
