March 11, 1948 q M*»*a CUr GI*k«-U*i«U«, Mat*a City, U. NORTH IOWA MAN DIES IN BOMBAY William Schow Was in U. & Merchant Marine Garner—Word has been received here of the death of. Clifford William William Schow, 25, son of William C. Schow of Garner. He died suddenly suddenly in Bombay, India, March 4, 1948. He had been in service 6 years. The family received word of his death on March 8. He died aboard ship at Bombay and qt the time was working for the merchant marine marine on an oil tanker. The cause of death is' unknown to relatives here. Mrs. Norman Juhl, a sister, received received a letter from Clifford March 5, in which he appeared in good spirits and mentioned that it was his last trip before returning to the United States and hoped to obtain a leave and visit with home folks. He was born Aug. 9, 1922. He is survived by his father, one sister, Mrs. Norman Juhl of Miller. His mother died in 1946. The body is being returned to Garner for burial. Time of arrival is indefinite.
