She also made the claim that the only reason she had not been seriously Injured was owing to the fact that she always managed to keep out of his reach. On Monday afternoon repeated telephone telephone calls were received by the police about a. disturbance In the neighborhood neighborhood of the Beaumont house, and finally finally one call stated that If some person did not get there soon there would ba a murder. Chief Vance. Sergeant Thomas and Patrolmaji Ryan were at the house within five minutes and found the woman In tha back yard. Beaumont had dodged .inside and was apparently asleep on a couch when, they entered, but' there was a slight opening of one of the eyes and Beaumont was taken Into custody. The only defense put up by him yesterday was that he had naver hurt his wife. She did not care to have a warrant Issued for his arrest on a more serious charge and have him sent to court, so Magistrate Holt Just imposed a. fine on a ch&rgo of disorderly conduct.
