Guayama crop news Aug 1845 - From Porto Rico Capt. Lewis, of the brig...
From Porto Rico Capt. Lewis, of the brig jEolus, arrived at New York on Friday, from Guayama, P. R., whence he sailed on the 5th inst , says that the sugar cane in the vicinity of that place looks well, and it was expected that the crop would be much larger than it was the preceding year. Freights were dull at Guaya ma when Capt. Lewis sailed. The vessels in port would take all that there were. - The ba lance of the last crop had been all sold for Eu rope.
