Peter Tischler - fatal accident
INJURIES ARE FATAL TO MAN .HURT IN MINE Peter Tischler, Hughes ' town Miner, Dies Following Accident RUN DOWN BY CARS One of His Sons Employed as a Mail Carrier in This City PITTSTON, Aug. 16. Injuries incurred this afternoon when run down by a trip of mine cars while at work as a company laborer in the mines of the No.. 9 colliery of the Pennsylvania Coal Company caused the deatn at 5 o'clock . of Peter Tischler, age 63, a I - rominent resident of Hughestown Borough. , Mr. Tischler was working along the heading road in the mines when an electric mine motor pushing two loaded cars ran him down. The cars passed over him. He was picked up by fellow mine workers rushed to the mine hospital where first aid treatment was given and immediately taken to the surface and removed to the Pittston hospital, where he died at 5 o'clock. His both legs were fractured, his right arm and probable internal injuries were described as his injuries. Mr. Tischler was born in Hughes - town where he resided all his life. His parents the late Mr. and Mrs. John Tischler being pioneer residents of that borough. He was a charter member of the Hughestown Hose Company. Besides his widow he is survived oy one son. Clarence, a letter carrier at Scranton, and one daughter, Irs. Hilda Landmesser. Also a brother, Henry, of New Jersey. The body has been taken to the family 81 Center street, Hughestown, from where the funeral will be held.
