Coverage of the launch of the first Socialist Sunday School (SSS) to be launched on the Pacific coast. More than 100 children were in attendance at the Jan. 28, 1906 launch at the headquarters of Local Oakland, Socialist Party of California — the state affiliate of the Socialist Party of America. Organizer of the SSS movement in California was H.H. Lilienthal, an activist in the 1905 Oakland Free Speech movement.
