Jail Wright On 2nd Dry taw Charge Ex - .Tuneau Co. Sheriff is Unable to Furnish Bonds Lyall T. Wright, Mauston, former Juneau county "boy sheriff" spent Mon - dav night In the Dane county,jail when he" failed to furnish a $2,000 bond after after his arraignment that afternoon before before P. R. Bentlcy, U. S. court commissioner, commissioner, on a charge of violating the federal prohibition, law. Wright was arrested . Saturday afternoon afternoon when a raid on his. Mauston lunch room disclosed a quantity of alleged llquo farm which Mr. Bentlcy refused to accept accept ss it was tbe bondsman's home and therefor exempt. At the time of his arrest Wright was under 3,000 bonds under a. .previous federal liquor law charge which brought his removal as sheriff. Every ' effort was made Monday by Wright to - stay out of jail. .He interviewed interviewed other federal ' officials, .but Mr. Bentley declared that he was alone responsible responsible and Wright would be held unless unless he produced a satisfactory bonds - Wright, under guard, was then permitted permitted to seek, the aid of Madison friends but failed to .secure bonds. He then pleaded with Mr. Bentley to allow him to return home: claiming - that two of his children are' 1)1 - with - no one to care for them. .
