1928-6-8 Tuttle Plans County Camp
1 coin ci D Forester Negotiating for Three Acres of Mountain Land in Wildwood Canyon Area Efforts to secure three acres of mountain land in Wildwood canyon southeast of Yucaipa for the estab llshment of a county campground, are being made by County Forester Roy M. Tuttle. Mr. Tuttle has corresponded with the owner of the private land do- do- sired and asked for permission to establish a permanent county camp- camp- ground. The area desired for the camp Is covered with live oak trees and is especially adapted for camping and picnic purposes. If permission to use the property is given it is the purpose of the county forester to clean up the area and plow a fire break entire ly around it. It could be fitted as a campground with virtually no expense expense to the county and camping would be confined to the particular section cleared for the purpose. Under present existing conditions no camping is permitted in the area. The location is considered one of the most desirable mountain sections in the entire county for camping purposes.
