St. Mary's Soloists In Students Enter Ensemble, District Musical Meet St. Mary's High School Band,A, B entered 20 soloists and 7 ensembles in the District II solo and ensemble contest held at Port Clinton High School. The band received 4 superior, 16 excellent, four good, and three fair ratings. In Class A, Superior ratings weer awarded to Emilie Kromer in a Marimba solo and John Schaefer in a bass clarinet solo. Both students will enter the state competition in April. In Class C, superior ratings were given to ^Patricia Etowski in a clarinet solo and William Cheetham in a baritone solo. Excellent ratings, (in Class , or C), were awarded to Mary LaLond, Karen Bauer, Stephen Verock, Carol Polta, Christine Grekso, Gayle Pran- kart, Emilie Kromer, Patricia Burch, Sally Printy, Susan Stookey; A flute trio — (Sally Printy, Virginia Schemmer, Jeannie Serniish); a clarinet quartet — (Patricia Soroogy, Connie White, Patricia Etowski, Donald Mantey); a clarinet trio—(Nanette Jesberger, Diane Koelsch, Karen Sue Young) brass quartet no. I (Donald Suzanne Hill, Patricia Burch); brass quartet no. II (Susan Stookey, Thomas May Suzanne Hill, Patricia Burch); Percussion ensemble — (Carol Polta, Lynn Joerger, Gayle Frankart, William Cheetham, and Emilie Kromer). Good ratings awarded to Karen Keller, Carolyn May, and Karen Bauer;' a brass quintet — (Donald Gallam, Gregg Christman, Ann Windau, Christine Grekso and Mark Carruthers).
