Dewey Barber Shelby Dewey Barber, 80, of 1829 E. Chester St., died this morning at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital after a long illness. Funeral services are incomplete with George A. Smith and Sons . Funeral Home in charge. , ; Mr. Barber was a retired employee of the Transit Corporation of Chicago. He was a native of Mississippi and had moved to Jackson after his retirement about 10 years ago. He was a Primitive Baptist. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mimia Barber of Jackson; a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Berkley of Glen-view, 111.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Patricia Hodge of Joliet, 111.; two sons, Wendell T. Barber of Toronto, Canada, and Tommy Barber of Eldridge, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Essie ' Raden of Yazoo City, Miss.; and Mrs. Vola Turner of Hollandsdale, Miss.; two brothers, Cayce Barber and -Rufus A. Barber, both of Jackson; and 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
