HOLD - UP MEN FIRE AT SOUTH SIDE MAN Hold - up men who tried to rob August Jobs, 21, of 329 Stafford avenue, at Stafford avenue and Willow street, late last nl?ht fired a shot at him when he started to make a get - away. Jobs, according to the story he told Lieutenant Alva Stewart, of the South Side precinct, was followed by two men during the evening. Shortly after 10:30 o'clock, as he reached the intersection of Stafford avenue and Willow street, a man who had been lying beside the fence stepped out and pressed a gun against his ribs. Jobs reached down to pick up a rock, when a second footpad hit him, he said. He then started to run away, and the man with the gun fired one shot.
