A SECOND JESSE JAMES. ENTERS A BANK AND SHOOTS DOWN THREE MEN. The besperado Terrorised Everybody and Went Off Wltli Twelve Hundred Oollars—The Man Made Good Bis Escape. A Bold Bank Robbery. LIMA, O., Aug. 11.— One of tho .boldest {^ank robberies ever perpetcated in this section of country occurred ithis morning at Columbus G.rove,_a town <>f about 3,000 people, twelve miles north of here. Cashier T. J. Maple had just opened the Exchange bank, of which his father is pro- prfetor, and laid out about 83,000 near the chashier's window. About 8:30 a man appeared at the door with a revolver in each hand. He immediately began shooting. Cashier Maple was struck twice, onoe in the arm and once in the right side. As he fell to the flocran old farmer, William Vandermark, aged 00, entered the door, having come to got his money for some hogs he had just sold. Tho robber turned and. shot him through and through. A third thati sat in tho lobby of the bank, paralyzed with fear. He was not molested. • The desperado then grabbed $1,20J in greenbacks, shoved it in tho pockets of his sack coat and darted out the door shouting: "I'm a second Jesse James."' Maple has a flesh wound in the arm and a glance wound from a rib in his side, but is in no danger unless blood iioisoning sets in. Mr. Viindermark is one of tho most substantial farmers. Ho was struck by the bullet on the right side below the ribs and injured internally. He is vomiting blood and will probably be dead before this is printed. He cannot recover at all events. At 11:45 o'clock to-night tho bank robber was still at largo and the chase has been abandoned until daylight. Almost every, body in the northern part of Allen county has been out .all day looking for the des- ^•perado.
