Guy Simpsons Honored on 50th Weddino; Anniversary ALE3£IS — Around l70 relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Simpson gathered at the Norwood United Presbyterian Church Saturday afternoon and evening to offer congratulations on their 50th wedding anniversary which was Dec. 18. A gold and white centerpiece, a gift to Mr. and Mrs. Simpson and made by Mrs. Weldon Calhoun of Monmouth, centered the serving table which was covered with an ivory tablecloth embroidered in gold. Serving honors were accorded two sisters of Mrs. Simpson, Mrs. Lois Ray and Miss Marie Boultinghouse, Mrs. Florence Lonnecker, sister of Simpson and Mrs. Dean Simpson, sister-in-law. Punch was served by a granddaughter, Mrs. James Calhoun. Another granddaughter, Marcia Brown, was in charge of the gifts. Two grandsons David and My- rwi Simpson presided at the guest book. Sharing other duties were Mrs. Charles Hennenfent. Mrs. Clifford Bird, Mrs. Olive Fell, Mrs. David Knupp, Mrs. Dean Anderson, Mrs. William Miller, Mrs. James Feldman, Mrs. William Pheiffer, Sandra Miller, Susan Knupp. Nancy Young and Terry Gregory. During the afternoon VIrs. I^ouis Simpson accompanied Mrs. Ernest Kchr as she sang .sevei'al numbers and in the evening Mrs. Wendell Brown accompanied Paul Russell of Little York as he sang Several numbers. The affair was planned by their children, Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Brown and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Simpson. Guests were present from Fort Worth, Tex.; California, Diagonal, Lenox and Thayer, Iowa; Peoria, Macomb, Gale.sburg, Knoxville, Aledo, Little York, Rock Island, Moline, Rcynolrl.s, Snrton, Gladstone. Monmouth, T o 1 o n o and Larchland. Lacy's Good Deed LOUISVILLE. Ky. (AP) ~ Dr. Robert M. Lacy, a research engineer, did his good turn for blind Boy Scouts. He made seven recordings which supply the information a Scout needs to work for higher ratings. The discs are distributed to the sightless through national Scout headquarters.
