Mrs. Weaver received a report from the war department on January that her son had been missing in action action since December 17, 1944, the day after the big German drive started. She received no further word until March 12, when a card from her son, informed her that he was a prisoner of war. On this card he gave his- rating rating as sergeant. His message was brief and as follows: "Dearest 'Mon, Beth and BOD: An•other An•other note to let you know that I am well and safe, Hope to be able to write a letter soon. I have my Bible with me and have faith in the One above. Please write Barbara and the folks in Texas. All my love, Bart."
