Dowell Presentation of diplomas: : The annual County/spelli'ng contest was held at Sallissiw last Saturday. There Were fifteen contestants. The $10 medal was won by Tom McMiillan of Marble City, he paving missed no'words. His teacher says he'tah spell every word in the book,/ Eugene Levy did well, missing only 3 words out of 500. Beulah Shackelford missed only four. ^ We promise a gold 7 medal to the winner at Muldrtiw* next year. We must win this time. Now is the time to begin. On Friday night, May' 21, the pupils of the school will give an entertainment and box supper for the benefit of. the library and expense fundi A play will be given' by the high school pupils; the 6th and 7th grades will have a drill, -after which ice cream . ana cake will be served and a general good time enjoyed. He described some Japan customs and stated that he likes American customs better. •> v Mrs. Norrid's room won the banner again this month for the best attendance of the school.
