A lifelong Poughkeepsie resident, resident, he had served as a patrolman for the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department Department for 23 years and was a member of the force at the time of his death Hp , hnrn nn TW IS 191S the son of George and Genife (Rocco) Fortino. He was educated In Poughkeepsie schools and attended the Westchester Police Academy. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Armv. Mr. Fortino was amemb,er of the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Benevolent Association and the Poughkeep - sie Methodist Church. In addition to his wife, the former Helene Couse, he is sur - ' by a son, Theodore. of Georgia, a brother, William, Poughkeepsie: three sisters. Margaret Fortino. Ann Skovan and Florence Ferri, all of Poughkeepsie, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral is scheduled for today today at 2 p.m. at the Joseph J Darrow Sr. Funeral Home Inc., 39 S.
