Baha'i Faith Leader Sets Visit to Pee Dee . Â· HEMINGWAY - Bill Sears, who cut short a brilliant career as playwright, radio director and television sporls broadcaster, broadcaster, to become a missionary for the Baha'i Faith will be the' guest speaker for W o r l d Religion .Day at the Louis Gregory Institute in Hemingway, Hemingway, on Sunday, starting at 2:00 p.m. 1 His other plans include a television i n t e r v i e w in Florence, and several meetings wilh newly established Baha'i local assemblies. He will help . consolidate gains made during the past'ten years including the growth from s e v e r a l localities and local assemblies a decade ago to several hundred hundred in South Carolina today. Sears won the University of Wisconsin iPlaywiting Award in 1G33, published a play in the 1936 Yearbook of Best Plays, won the outstanding TV sports show of Ihe Year award for his ' nationwide CBS f o o t b a l l Round-Up and produced and starred in the coasl-lo-coast programs '.'in the Park," and "Kid Gloves." He also served as UP! correspondent, radio news editor, and Pacific Coast radio director for a west coast Â· adverlising agency. In his work for the Baha'i Faith, he and his family moved to Africa in 1953, was elected Chairman of the first National Assembly for South and West Africa, was later 4 - appointed "Hand of the Cause of God," BILL SEARS Baha'i Leader one of 27 "Chief Stewards" the Faith and has since ed extensively Ihroughout the world. He has published 5 books including: "Release the Sun," "God Loves Laughler," "The 'Flame," "The Prisoner and the Kings," and "Thief in N'ighl," which he calls "The Case of the Missing Milleniu," and concerns the fulfillment biblical prophecy. The theme of this year's observance of World Religion Day is: "World Religion -Basis -Basis for World Unity." World Religion Day will be observed Sunday; in over 4,800 American cities. Its purpose is to stress the oneness of all revealed religions, and that religion is and has always been the source of unity.
