Winston Republican : Perhaps the oldest married couple living in this section of the State is to be found in Yadkin county. We allude to Aquilla Speer and wife, the hus band being in his 84th year and his helpmeet in her 81st. They have been married 64 years both entering the cunubial state before tbe age of 21. At or near Brown's X Roads in Randolph county, one York; white, hired a ngro man to set fire to the barn ! of Win. Brown, Esq., and the negro was caught 'and confessed, but not until after the barn was in ashes and two horss had perished. Tbe negro was jailed at Ashboro and it is said, that he bargained to do the job for a couple gallons of liquor. York escaped, but was caught at Waugh-town, Waugh-town, Waugh-town, this county, one day this week. He had been selling liquor without license, for which he has been prosecuted, prosecuted, and it is supposed he thought Mr. Brown the informant of his nefarious nefarious traffic. .
