South American Countries to Be Studied By Women of Wapello Study Club Wapello — The general theme of study chosen for study this year by the members of the Wapello Women's Study club will be Jie countries and people of South America and their customs. Subjects pertaining to the general theme will be presented at each The meetings are held the first Wednesday in each month at 2:30 o'clock, and the programs for the sessions are arranged by Mrs. H. E. Hoover, Mrs. M. F. Hicldm and Mrs A. W. Hinderman. Mrs. George Jamison is president of the club, and other officers are Mrs. T. H. Jones .vice president; 'Mrs. B. L. Christie, recording secretary; Mrs. H. £. Hoover, corresponding secretary, and Mrs. W. B. Brown, treasurer. Mrs. Arthur Reed of Burlington is the district director, and Mrs, Ernest Lieb.erknecht of Letts is county chairman. "Over the coffee in Brazil will be the study taken up at the meeting of the club on Nov. 5. Hostesses, Alma Hammer and Lucille Brown. Program, "Brazilian Exports and Topography." Estella Christie and Millicent Winter. At the meeting on Dec. 3, "Christmas in South American Countries" will be the study topic. Yuletide music and literature uill be presented in charge of Gladys McNeil and Lucille Brown. Hostesses will be Lucille Thomas and Irene Hicklin. A "fiesta tea" will be held at the meeting or, Jan. 7, when Millicent Hicklin and Cleora Hicldm are the hostesses. Program, "Education and Religion," by Juanita Jamison, South American Kitchens by Mildred Hook. Feb. 4, the topic will be "Sailing Social QitutcU The Dorcas society will -meet Wednesday afternoon' with Mrs. Mary Worst, 517 East Eleventh street. Members of the Royal Neighbor Aid and Sunshine club will meet Tuesday at I. 0. 0. F. hall, A'potluck dinner at noon will be followed by a social afternoon-, —o— Women o£ the Mu&crvil!e Methodist church will meet, at- Hoopes all-day Wednesday to prepare for the annual chicken supper to be served in the evening. A potluck dinner at noon. —o— The regular meeting of the United Spanish American Wat- Veterans will be held at 7:30 Wednesday at the city hall. —o— Miss Alma Cecil, of Davenport, and Mrs. Ethel Stump will be the hostesses at the meeting of the Past Noble Grands Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Delia Bosten, 501 Iowa avenue. —o— The Pythian Sisters are asked to bring canned fruit for the home when they meet at 8 p. m. Tuesday at the K. P. hall. The annual open house and donation day of the Julia Elizabeth home will be Wednesday. The public is cordially invited and may bring useful gifts to the home.
