Death of a Prominent Citizen. Mr. John Focht, who was one of the best known citizens of Dauphin county, died on Thursday last at his residence near Lingles - town, in the 63th year ;of his age. For many years Mr. F. was a school teacher, - and before the common school system existed in our State he was an instructor of children. He was also the founder of an academy known as the St. Thomas Institute, in Linglestown, of which he was the principal for a number of years. The cause of education had in him a firm friend. No citizen citizen was more highly respected than he. The funeral services were held in the Bethel, at Linglestown, on Sunday foienoon. Rev. C. H. Forney, D. D., editor of The Church Advocate, preached the sermon, from 1 Cor. 15:56 - 57. There was a very large attendance, attendance, many persons being unable to gain admittance admittance to the church.
