Roper, N. C, March 13, 1905. Dear Advocate: I am a little girl nine years old. I go to church and Sunday-school every Sunday. Our pastor is Rev. S. A. Cotton. Superintendent of the Sunday-school is Mr. L. G. Roper, and my teacher is Mrs. Louisa Walker. My papa has been a subscriber to the Advocate twelve years. I study history, grammar, geography, spelling, writing, and arithmetic. I am taking music lessons also. I will answer Mary Smitherman's question: Cain killed Abel. And I will ask one: How long did the flood last? Hoping to escape the waste basket, I am Your friend, ALICE AUGUSTA CLARK. P. S. I enclose 10 cents for the orphans.
