Nancy L. Bortner SEVEN VALLEYS Nancy L. Bortner, 28, daughter of Clyde H. and Beulah Dise Bortner, Seven Valleys, who was to begin duties in the fall as assistant professor of French at Hood College, died Friday at 7:25 p.m. at Hershey Medical Center where she had been a patient two weeks. Besides her parents she is survived survived by four brothers, Dennis L. Bortner, Bricktown, N.J.; James M. Bortner, Glen Rock RD 1, and Thomas A. and Lynn M. Bortner, both at home, and paternal grandmother, Mrs. Cora Bortner, Lineboro Rd, Md. Miss Bortner was a member of Jerusalem (Fissel's) Lutheran congregation. She was a 1960 graduate of Spring Grove High School, received her B.A. degree from Wilson College, was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and earned Distinction in French. She received her master's degree in French from Columbia University, and was an instructor at Wilson College for three years. She did doctoral work at Case Western Reserve University and held a teaching fellowship there. She won a grant of one year of study in France to complete her doctoral work. The Rev. Carl R. Simon, Miss Bortner's pastor, will officiate at funeral services today at 2 p.m. at Goodling Funeral Home, Seven Valleys. Interment will be in Fissel's Union Cemetery.
