Mrs. Harold Whipple LEAF RIVER — Mrs. Harold (Edith A.) Whipple of rural Leaf River, a member of Middle Creek Presbyterian Church, died Tuesday morning in Rockford Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. She was born March 18, 1919, in Iowa, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Allen. On March 20, 1937, she was married to Harold Whipple at Mineral. The couple resided in the Leaf River area for the past 29 years. Surviving are her husband; three sons. Earl Allen and Harry Raymond, both of Byron, and Dann Richard of Stillman Valley; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Thelma) Collins of Stillman Valley and Mrs. Danny (Phyllis) Jeans of Loves Park; 12 grandchildren; her parents of Sheffield; three brothers, Leo of Oregon, David of Wisconsin and Lawrence of California; and three sisters, Mrs. Ray DePauw of Collinsville, Mrs. Gilbert Kinnamon of Arizona and Mrs. Samuel Winn of Oregon. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Middle Creek Church, with the Rev. George Swalve, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Byron Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m.. Thursday at Bakener-Morrison Funeral Home, Byron.
