v FUN football area roundup Freshman The Ited Devil Freshman, under the direction of Coaches Jay Morris and Bill Deering, won a defensive battle over the - Sharpstown Tigers 8-6, * The Tigers scored in the first period of play on a two yard plunge. The Devil defense then came alive and held the Tigers to little yardage for the remainder of the game. Red Devil tailback Bill Deering scored the only TD in the second quarter. A In the final period a (ired-up Devil defense scored the remaining two points by tackling the Tigers in their own end zone for a safety. Playing well defensively for the freshmen were Jackie Severs, Kevin Garner, Erik Indian, Bryan Payne, Shaun t '•• Miller, Randy Kod and Jeff Zimmerle of Lake Jackson, Anthony Robinson and Deering of Angleton, Scott Solis of Clute and "Champ" Davis of Brazoria. The Red Devils had 74 yards rushing and 41 yards passing for a total of 115 ivi offensive yards. The Tigers were held to only two first downs and a total of 33 yards. Captains for this weeks game were Ricky Pointer of Clute and Bevers. Trainers for the Freshmen this season are Bobby Payne of Lake Jackson ,fi and Jesse Scott of '' Angleton. Boston University has onehome football game. It's against Holy Cross Oct. 15.
