Myron C Eld Myron C. Eld McCandleas West View Water Authority manager Myron C. Eld, 85, died Friday, 21,19%, at his home He received a business administration administration degree from the University University of A r k a n While Living in Arkansas, he was a catcher for a semi-professional semi-professional baseball baseball team. After college, he traveled West to visit the Grand Canyon and Yosemite national parks and Carlsbad Caverns. He swam in Crater Take, descended more than mile into a Colorado copper and climbed the "needles" rock formations in the Black Hills of Dakota. Upon his return East, he became surveyor for South Pittsburgh Water Co. and eventually was promoted distribution superintendent He also held management positions with water companies in Haddon Heights, NJ..andVandergrifL During World War II. he was charge of the piping systems of landing ships constructed by the American Bridge Co. shipyards. Under direct Navy supervision, and his crew once completed ships in a single month during peak effort in 1943. In 1955, he became head of View Water Authority's distribution system. He supervised the installation installation of main lines and tanks ^Weat View service area nearly doubled in size, reaching to the County line. He retired in 1976 assistant general manager. Mr. Eld was known for his devotion to his family, his love of beauty and the vastaess of this country and the challenge of providing clean, clear drinking water in areas he served during his 40-year career in die water works business. Among his happiest memories were his summers spent on grandfather's ranch near the Black Hills of South Dakota, where once met and shook hands President Coolidge. Surviving are a son, John Eld McCandless; a cousin. Dr. Noleta Nance of Fayetteville, Ark.; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by wife of 51 years, Helen Fleming two brothers, Charles and Elmer Eld; and a sister, Brenda Wolff. Friends wiQ be received from to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in H,P. Brandt Funeral Home Inc., 1032 Perry Highway, Ross, where a funeral service wiD be at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hflls,
