Clipper Classified Ads Pay. Almon F. Smith, acting postmaster postmaster at Huntertown, was arrested arrested Wednesday by U.S. Postal inspectors, inspectors, charged with tampering with the U.S. Mail. Smith was taken before U.S. Commissioner Roland Schulz, where he indicated he would waive Grand Jury action in the case. He was then released on $1,000 bond. Smith was charged specifically with opening letters and reading ' the contents. Complaints Complaints by the recipients of these letters led to the investigation and subsequent arrest of Smith. Preliminary Preliminary investigation indicated that no money was taken from the letters, the Postal inspectors said.
