(I., today 'announced the commission of Colonel Churchill B. Mehard, Pittsburgh, as brigadier general of the 63rd field artillery brigade. General Mehard assumes command of the brigade following the retirement of Brigadier General Asher Miner, Wilkes - Barre, who commanded the 109th field artillery during the World war, and who retired because of war wounds, which still afflict him. Lieutenant Colonel John W. Converse, Philadelphia, assumed temporary command of the 107th field artillery regiment, formerly commanded by General Mehard, until commission is announced.
