a the Pioneer in Education Buried at Martinsburg MARTINSBURG, W. Va. L?l Funeral services were held here today for Philip T. Koesccker. pioneer in public education in Berkeley County as teacher and Keesecker. who n-as S3, died yesterday at a nursing home in Charles Town, W. Va. In addition lo his work with schools he was active in'lhc Methodist Church. . Three of his sons became ctl'ica- fors, two others entered the ministry and one of his two daughters also became a teacher. A son, Dr. Ward W. Kccseckcr, o/ the U. S. Office ol Education, U presently overseas as chief education advisory to (he Republic of Indonesia. Keesccker's wife died in 1934. He served in public schools in the county for more than 25 He recently had been residing with a daughter, Mrs. Arthur at Charles Town, and at the home. He was superintendent of schools during the early 1890s.
