FARMERS OF SCREVEN TO PLANT FOODSTUFFS Sylvanla Ga October 22. Special. One of the most representative meet- Ing of citizens ever seen In this county was that held at the courthouse In Sjlvanla Tuesday for the purpose of discussing the cotton situation. There were about five hundred farmers present and they' discussed the problem in a thoughtful and serious way. .1. C. Over-street was elected chairman-of the meeting and J. T. Avret secretary. A number of talks were made by prominent farmers after which all present pledged themselves to cut their cotton acreage next year and also their fertilizer one-half ox less if they could -Jbut no tless than one-half and to put the acreage in food crops. A resolution was also unanimously adopted that the farmers would agree to deposit their warehouse receipts with their creditors on account provided a written contract is made to hold the cotton six months or until the prices goes to 10 cents should It do that before the six- months ex pires.
