THE WEIGHING ' MACHINES BUSY Gather 7700 Pennies at the Comfort Station in Two Weeks A total of 7,700 pennies was extracted extracted from the weighing machines in the Penn street comfort station during the last two weeks. The official count was made yesterday in the office of Councilman Teager, and the pile of coppers was large. As was to be expected, the greater number were taken from the women's side, it being assumed that the ladies are more concerned about their weight than the men. The exact proportion proportion could not be learned, but the balance is considerably in favor of the women. The remainder of the receipts were also tabulated, but will not.be made public at present Councilman Teager stated, last evening, however, that he was confident that the comfort station station would show a net profit when the account are balanced. Should this be the case, there will be a reduction in the prices charged for the various conveniences which have been i: stalled.
