Geissinger Participating In Exercise FORT RILEY, KAN. - Cpl. William D. Geissinger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank X. Conese, Cold Springs Road, Huntingdon, is participating with the 1st Infantry Division in Desert Warrior 80, a training exercise at Fort Irwin, Calif. The exercise is being conducted to determine how well a U. S. Military unit, that has worked together, can operate in an extremely intense electronic warfare environment. It will provide U. S. forces an opportunity to conduct joint military tactical operations, using armored, mechanized infantry, infantry and tactical air forces in a semi - desert environment. Fort Irwin, located in the upper Mojave Desert, is scheduled to develop into one of the Army's major training areas. Geissinger is a mechanic at Fort Riley, Kan. He is a 1973 graduate of Huntingdon Area High School and entered the Army in June 1973. His wife, Melody, is with him at Fort Riley.
