MANAGER OF DOWN IE BROS. IN HOSPITAL Charles Sparks, manager of the Downie Brothers circus, was taken suddenly ill at Concord yesterday and ordered to the Margaret Pillsbury Hospital for treatment. • Notwithstanding the illness of .tho manager, two performances of the Downie show were given, with good audiences considering the threatening weather and a street parade provided an interesting spectacle at noon. For years Mr, Sparks traveled with his father, who built up the John Sparks show from a small affair to a three-ring circus. Some years after the death of John Sparks, his heirs sold the old show and Charles Sparks retired; only u> take up activity again as manager of the Downie circus.
