Provo City Housing Authority Votes to Suspend • TYWVn By ROBERT McDOUGALL Provo City Housing Authority today voted to suspend operations because of an indefinite cut in Federal funding which was to be used to build 125 subsidized housing units. The action came after John Manning, Provo Chamber of Commerce general manager and a member of the housing authority board, vigorously criticized the action of the city commission in replacing Ed Cordova as a member of the housing authority. Mr. Manning revealed that a letter sent to Mr. Cordova had advised him that his term of office had expired, but it failed to mention that he was being replaced on the board. He acknowledged the legal right of the commission to appoint members of the board, but he said it is his belief that they had a responsibility to keep the board intact long enough to do some of the things it had set out to do. Cites Contribution He referred to the on-going contribution of Mr. Cordova as a member of the board by noting that the minutes from the last meeting showed 'that Mr. Cordova had been assigned several projects to work on. In other action, the board was advised from the office of L. C. Romney, Salt Lake area representative for the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), that it should not proceed to advertise for housing construction until further notice. Robert K.
