Sam Maxey killed in automobile accident December 26, 1937 in Pittsburg, Texas
Sam Maxey PITTSBURG, Tex.. (PP) — Sam Maxey, 37, was killed early Sunday when he leaped from one automobile into the path of another in a dense fog on a highway near here. Occupants of the cars theorized that Maxey, afraid of a collision when he saw the other machine approaching, approaching, attempted to jump to safety. Guy D. Barrett son of Sheriff G. H. Barrett, and Calvin Watson, occupied one automobile. Maxey was riding with his brother Derrell. There was no collision and no one else was hurt.
