Police said Heather Hut- fless, 6, Omaha, was riding skateboard near her home when she was run over National Disposal Service garbage truck driven by C. Newby, 23, Omaha. Police said Newby was ticketed for suspicion of mis- demeanor motor vehicle homicide and for suspicion driving without a license. Police said witnesses saw the girl skateboarding down hill on 23rd St. just north Spring St. intersection. The garbage truck, witnesses told police, was facing north on 23rd St. but it was parked the wrong side of the street making a garbage pickup. Police said witnesses reported the truck drove from the curb and crossed over to the right side of street where the northbound girl on her skateboard was unable to stop, and the right front wheel ran over The death of the Hutfless girl, the daughter of Mr. Mrs. James J. Hutfless, 301B S. 23rd St., was Omaha's traffic fatality of the year.
