*-Alflona (la,) Upf.er Des Molnes Thursday, March 23, 1961 Vergene Norland Weds lone Rock Man In Fenton Church Fenten — In a beautiful wedd ing cerembny solemnized Sunday, Mar. 19, at 7 p.m. in St. John's Lutheran church, Yergene i Norland -. became the bride of Dennis Schmidt. The bride is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Olaf Noflaiid of Cylinder and the bridegroom is the sort of Mr and Mrs Ben Schmidt of Lone Rock. The double-ring candle light ceremony was performed-by Rev. W. H. Friedrich. Nuptial music was played by Joanne Mitchell, who played a prelude of hymns, and soloist Susan Montgomery, Lone Rock, sang. The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attired in a dress fashioned of candlelight -Jacquard brocade over nylon net arid taffeta. The basque bodice was styled with a princess front panel, sweetheart neckline with small tailored bow. at the back and three-quarter sleeves adorned with tiny bows. The very full princess ft'ont into a wide circular chapel train. She wore a cloud veil of candlelight imported English bridal illusion, attached to queen's crown of peach blossoms and tiny pearl petals :n a scalloped effect. She carried a cascade bouquet of tangerine roses and white stephanotis. Hci jewelry \vas a pearl pendant necklace, a gift from the groom. Mrs Gene Planchard, sister of the bridegroom, was matron of honor, and Faye Hantelman, cou< sin of the bride, was bridesmaid. Maria Waite was flower girl. The bride's personal attendant was Susan Hantelman. The 'groom was attended by Rodney Priebe as best man, Arden Norland as groomsman and Allan Leaneagh as junior attendant. Ushers were Gary Schmidt and Allen Hantelman, assisted by Arnold Hantelman as senior usher. In attendance at the wedding skirt swept ; back from a flat were the grandparents, Mr and Mrs Henry Scheppman of Algona and Mrs Robert Schmidt of Fairmont. Following the wedding, a reception was held in the church parlors for 225 guests. Helena Meyer was in charge of the guest book. Dining room host and hostess was Dr. and Mrs John Waite. The beautifully decorated refreshment table' was centered with a large five tiered wedding cake baked and decorated by Mrs Russell Kauffman. The cake was topped with a bouquet of tangerine roses and green foliage. Punch was served by. Mrs Rob ert Smith and presiding at the coffee service were Mrs Melvln Norland and Mrs David Smith Serving the cake were Mrs Norman Bollinger and Mrs fritz Newbrough. Waitresses were Judy Frink, Becky Householder Judy Voigt, Judy Weiner, Mfiry Rbssitef and Sharoii Smith. In charge of the gifts were Mf3 Ladell Olson, Mrs Stanley 1 , Berkland, Judy Julil and Gail Hantelman. Kitchen hostesses were Mesdames Ed Mitchell, Arno Juhl, Larry Alt, Helena Jentz Rueben Luedtke, William Hantelman, Walter Jentz, Nc-rman Finnestad, Waller Pertl, Lloyd Sunde, Don Berklahd and Alberl Schwarzenbach. The bride and groom both graduated from Sentral High School. The groom is now stationed at Bergstrom Air Force Base in Texas. The bride will graduate in June from the Northwest Institute of Laboratory Technology in Minneapolis.
