Miss Shethar Wed In Rye Becomes Bride Of Oliver H. Everett In Parents' Home Miss Gwendolyn Shethar, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John in Burke Shethar, of Milton Point, Rye, was wed yesterday afternoon at the home of her parents to Oliver Hurd Everett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Dewey Everett, of Grace, Church Street, Rye. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Wendell W. Phillips, rector of Christ's: Church, Rye. Given in marriage by her father. the bride wore a gown of ivory satin made with short. sleeves andV-neckline edged with lace. She wore also an old family veil of rose point lace, fastened to a lace coronet. and carried a bouquet of white orchids and lilies of the valley. The Misses Sylvia and Lois Shethar were maids of honor for their sister. Bridesmaids included the Misses Marion Everett. Alice Noble. Lynette Manny, Marion Blodgett. Marianne Henry and Patricia Bigelow. All the attendants wore frocks of light green taffeta and carried white gladioli and, Canterbury bells. The maids of honor wore small white hats with green ribbons, and the others large white. Leghorn hats with the same trimming. George McCurtrie Godley, 2nd. was best man. and ushers were Theodore Vail Marsters, Philip H. Dean. •Robert M. Burnett. Elliot H. Goodwin. W. Russell Peabody, Geoffrey Clark and John Randolph Segar. After their wedding trip the couple will make their home 1n New York. The bride attended Rye Country Day School, was graduated from Miss Hall's School in Pittsfield, Mass., and made her debut in 1936; She is a member of the Junior League of New York. Mr. Everett was graduated from St. Mark's School and from Harvard University in 1939, where he belonged to the Fox Club and the Hasty Pudding-Institute of 1770,.
