Tbe Somerset Electric Liht, Heat and Power Company obtaintd a Charter of on tbe 18th of January ever since they have been investigating the merits of the different systems and have reached a conclusion in the matter and are now ready to proceed with active operations, and have a plant installed within sixty or ninety days, if the citizens of Somerset give them the proper encouragement.

All de- nilj on them. In a small town like Somerset unless the pyople are practically unanimous in iu favor it is impossible to get it, because tbe cost of installing and maintaining the plant is too treat, being almost as great as in a town of double its size. A commitiee will wait upon the people within ths next few days to see whether the required number of lights can be secured. Those who contract now for lights will have all their large lighta put up for cost, while those who will not do so until after the plant is installed will have to pay for the wiring themselves. Now, let our citizens give the company proper encouragement by subscribing liberally for lights and the borough authorities at once contract with the company, so that the rampany may see their way clear to proceed with the plant.

It is such a superior light to anything thai en used before that our people should hot let the slip to secure it. The company can't and won't erect the plant unh ss the people went it and show great unanimity in the matter. Citi.es. Imported Stations. His conditions of surrender are that he is to be given a new trial on the charge of assaulting and robbing Miss Mary Eoss, of George's Township, Fayette County. John, and those associated with bim at present, and especially stipulates that no reward is to be paid to any official or other person as the result of the surrender, because be fe-s that the hope of obtaining said would be an incentive for those interested to do some tall swearing. Iu esse this proposition is refused then the boys will let matters remain as they now are and Sheriff McCormick and his Deputies are at libei ty to catch bim if they can.
