British embwssy sources said the present program of purchase in this country will probably be continued, A statement made Nov. 21 by Sir Stafford Cripps, president of the British Board of Trade, gave the following figures on the use of the loan to that time: Foodstuffs, beverages and tobacco, 47 per cent; raw materials, 15 per cent; manufactures, 9 per cent, and other (mostly American motion pic- pure films and oil) 29 per cent.

The British have been using the money at the rate of 100 million dollars per month. They have until 1951 to draw it. 8 Texas closed out 1946 with a good cash income from taxes and other revenue producers, a- state comptroller's statement showed today. The gives collections through December for the fiscal year that began Sept. 1. The total was $112,137,795 compared with $95,827,000 for the comparable part of 1945. for December, 1946, were $27,268,775, and governmental costs for the same month were $25,895,152.

Since. Sept. state governmental cost has been $93,610,781. The cash balance at the year end was $35,465,404, Comptroller George Sheppard's reporfcsaid. He estimated the cash balance when the new cal year starts.Sept.
