This was the warning sounded at the semi-monthly meeting of the association last night in the Community Hall by Harry H. Selmes, the president. The meetings of the Civic association have dwindled down until for the past three or more years, few have attended them but the members of the Five Points Fire Company. At last night's meeting, the firemen protested that it was useless to continue the Civic body when they were doing all the civic work In the community.

Under the Civic Association's charter, every firemen mun be a member of the Civic Association. The association cwns the f.re apparatus, the community hall and fire houfe. At the present time, there are more than 100 members in the association with about 75 In good stand. ng. Of this number, 60 are membera of the fire company and are paying dues in the two organizations.

15 The first annual banqir-t of the Sussex County C. E. Union was held in the social hall of the Delmar Methodlsi Protestant Church Thursday evening. The room was deco-ated in red and white crepe pnpfr, the colors of the organization, and red and white C. E.

flags, while each guest, members of the orchestra and the waitresses were provided with red and white crepe paper hats. Music was furnished by Elton Hearne's Orchestra with Leo Ernest Culver, and Mrs. Ralph E. Nichols assisting Mr. Hearne.

Ralph E. Nichols, president of the Sussex County Union, acted as toa-stmastcr. There were approximately sixty-five guests from various points In the county, including six of th? State offlctrs from Wilmington. The lat ter were Miss Emma Huey, president of the Delaware State C. E.

The short stretch of road connecting the road at Milltow'n via the Del -Castle Farms to the. Creek road, which has been under construction was opened this week to traffic. The Improved road-bed is macadam. Last year, a portion of the road was improved and now the entire stretch has been resurfaced. The work was done bv W.

Mrs. George August will be chairman of the program committee at the social meet ng of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fire company, Tuesday night. The affair will be held In the Community Hall. On Wednesday evening, the Auxiliary will hold a bingo party in the hall. The committee in charge consists of Mrs.
